Privacy Policy

How DeepLock handles your data.

Effective date: April 11, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how DeepLock collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes information when you use the DeepLock website, Chrome extension, waitlist, and related mobile app experiences.

1. Who we are

DeepLock is a focus and distraction-blocking product designed to help users reduce time spent on distracting apps and websites. If you have any privacy questions, you can contact us at sangameshlingshetty@gmail.com.

2. What DeepLock does

DeepLock helps users block distracting apps or websites during selected focus hours, maintain streaks, and view time-saved style productivity insights. Depending on the product surface you use, this may include the website, Chrome extension, waitlist form, and future mobile app features.

3. Information we may collect

Depending on the feature you use, DeepLock may collect:

  • Contact information such as your email address when you join the waitlist, request support, or ask for account or data deletion.
  • Product configuration data such as selected blocked websites, blocked apps, schedules, focus windows, streak settings, and related preferences.
  • Usage and productivity information such as saved time, streaks, consistency metrics, blocked-session outcomes, and similar in-product activity summaries.
  • Technical data such as device type, browser type, app version, operating system, crash information, or diagnostic logs needed to keep the product stable and secure.
  • Communication data when you contact us by email or submit support requests.

4. Information we do not intentionally collect

DeepLock is not designed to collect personal messages, photos, contacts, call logs, microphone recordings, or precise location data unless a future feature explicitly requires it and the user is clearly informed first.

5. How we collect information

  • Directly from you when you submit forms or contact us.
  • Automatically from product usage needed to provide blocking, scheduling, diagnostics, and productivity insights.
  • From your settings and actions inside the product, such as focus schedules, blocked targets, and waitlist signup source.

6. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve DeepLock features.
  • To make app and website blocking, focus schedules, and progress tracking work correctly.
  • To send waitlist updates, launch notifications, and support replies.
  • To prevent abuse, fraud, misuse, and security issues.
  • To debug errors, review crashes, and improve product reliability.
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests.

7. How data is stored

Based on the current website implementation, waitlist email submissions are stored in our project data storage in a JSON file on the server side. In the current codebase, these entries include: email address, signup source, and creation timestamp.

Product settings, focus schedules, streaks, or analytics data may be stored locally on device, in browser or extension storage, or in secure backend systems depending on the product surface and feature.

8. Whether data is shared

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data only in the following situations:

  • With service providers that help us host, operate, or support DeepLock.
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process, or valid government request.
  • To protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of DeepLock, our users, or the public.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset sale, if applicable in the future.

9. Data retention

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the product, replying to support requests, maintaining waitlist records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations.

Waitlist data may be kept until the waitlist is no longer needed or until you request deletion. Support and operational records may be retained for a reasonable period for security, legal, and debugging purposes.

10. Account and data deletion

If you want your personal data deleted, including waitlist data or any future account-linked information, please use the dedicated deletion page at deeplock.tech/delete-account.

11. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to or limit certain processing in some cases.
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.

12. Children's privacy

DeepLock is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate legal basis or consent.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

14. International transfers

If DeepLock or its service providers process data in different countries, information may be transferred to and stored in countries outside your place of residence, subject to appropriate safeguards where required.

15. Third-party links and platforms

DeepLock may link to or depend on third-party services such as the Chrome Web Store, app stores, analytics providers, hosting providers, or support tools. Those third parties have their own privacy practices and policies.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page. Continued use of DeepLock after an update means the revised policy applies to the extent permitted by law.
